Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino seems to have made his feelings about Lionel Messi very clear following the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s display on the weekend.

The former Barcelona captain produced a stellar performance in Ligue 1 on Sunday night as the French defeated last season’s league champions Lille 5-1.

Despite his performance this weekend, it has not been an easy start to life in France for the Argentina captain amid rumours he has begun to miss his previous club Barca, having only contributed to 12 goals this season prior to Sunday’s clash.
Pochettino, however, has insisted he never questioned his view that the No. 30 is the best around.
« I had no doubts, Leo is the best player in the world, » he said, according to The Express.
« Like anyone, he needs time to adapt. He needed time to recover his best physical shape, after a month without playing because of the Covid.
« It’s important that Leo shows such participation and commitment. »
PSG are currently at the top of Ligue 1 with 56 points after 23 matches, 13 points ahead of second-placed Marseille.
