Phil Foden has been absolutely incredible this season. The Manchester City youngster has really come to the forefront of the team this season. The English international has turned into a real game-changer under Pep Guardiola. Phil Foden has easily had his best season in Manchester City colors. He’s helped the team to go on and win the Premier League and Carabao Cup and now possibly a first UEFA Champions League. Pep Guardiola has recently revealed about his thoughts on comparing Phil Foden with Lionel Messi. The coach says he’s never seen a player at Foden’s age more talented and skillful. Back in 2019, Pep Guardiola in a press conference said that Phil Foden was the most talented footballer he had ever met. That’s quite high praise from a man who’s won everything in club football. “Well, the best is Messi, first. Second, I didn’t meet Leo Messi at 17-years-old like I met Phil (Foden), and that age, I’ve never seen a player with this potential. I have said many times in press conferences, but maybe not said it in front of him, Phil is the most, most, most talented player I have ever seen in my career as a manager. His only problem is sometimes his manager doesn’t put him in the starting XI.
