ESPN FC’s Craig Burley, Herculez Gomez and Sebastian Salazar react to former Brazil and Barcelona legend Rivaldo’s comments that Argentine superstar Lionel Messi would prefer a move to MLS or China, if the seemingly constant conflict with the club’s boardroom ever made him decide to leave the Camp Nou. Neither Burley nor Gomez think that Messi would have the same impact off the field that David Beckham did when he joined the LA Galaxy, and both question whether Messi competitive nature would let him leave Europe while his generational rival Cristiano Ronaldo was still tearing up the record books for Juventus and Portugal. However both agree that Major League Soccer would be negligent not to do everything in its power to try and bring Messi to North American soccer if it can.
